Modern tech supports journey back in time at BLOOM by HERO

How do you re-imagine the experience of a natural, botanical garden that existed more than 200 years ago, in an urban structure like the Rockefeller Centre? Plenty of imagination, creativity and technology. All of which come together at BLOOM by HERO, named the #1 immersive experience in NYC by Time Out New York. This summer (2024) visitors to BLOOM will enjoy a truly sensorial experience through the use of Videri Digital Canvases and other technologies that bring the past to life.

“Videri has provided a seamless and gorgeous solution for creating an immersive space that has flexibility and range.

From educational inspiration to visual way finding to a brand activation canvas, Videri has been instrumental in refining our immersive experience.”

Seven interactive installations trace the journey of a seed, from rooting to blossoming, inside HERO, a new venue on the Rink Level that’s dedicated to state-of-the-art sound and light experiences and events. Visitors are engaged from the moment they arrive at the Gates of New York’s Eden, and welcomed by a radiant avatar of Mother Earth. From the Mycelium Underground to the Mushroom Forest, on to Bloom Garden and The Seed Shed, the fusion of art, technology and the natural environment is present in unique, beautiful and innovative ways.

Visitors will see Videri Canvases in a few locations throughout their journey, but they are the most prominent in The Seed Shed, where the Canvases provide a perfect medium to visually present the original flora and fauna native to the Elgin Gardens. The colorful sketches portrayed are referenced from NY State literature on the subject. These native plants are brought back to life through the vivid, sleek and elegant display of the sketches on multiple Canvases. It gives visitors the feeling of walking through an art gallery full of flowers. An experience that only Videri flush-mounted, self-contained Canvases can provide.

As part of the eco-friendly journey, a packet of seeds is given to each visitor as they pass through The Seed Shed, to create some green space in their own homes – but with modern urban garden plants like basil, lavender and more. Videri is proud to be part of the full circle experience at BLOOM, and we hope you’ll visit on your next trip to NYC! For tickets and more details, visit hero-nyc.com.

Edge-Lit TVs are on the hot seat. How does Videri keep its cool?

In a recent study by RTING, edge-lit TVs were identified as prone to significant durability issues due to concentrated heat which caused “uniformity problems” such as warped reflector sheets, cracked light guide plates, and burnt-out LEDs. The study concluded that these TVs posed a significant risk to long-term reliability. When it comes to thin digital displays, heat dissipation is paramount to the longevity of the product.
