DCM partners with Videri to deliver a sustainable marketing solution.

DCM is taking big steps to make its operations more sustainable—and that includes providing more sustainable marketing options to clients, like Videri digital screens.

Videri has carved out a reputation for exceptional digital signage that takes visual communications to the next level. These larger-than-life installations deliver jaw-dropping impact through dynamic text and crisp, clear images that play across multiple displays. The simplest of messages become elevated, experiential, and immersive through energy-efficient screens that use minimal power but deliver a sophisticated brand experience.

“In a world where marketing imagery is everywhere, Videri solutions cut through the clutter,” says Steve Livingstone, DCM’s Senior Vice President, Digital. “They’re true showstoppers, and the fact that they offer marketers a more flexible, sustainable marketing medium is a win-win. They align perfectly with our commitment to simplify marketing for our clients.”

DCM: Growth rooted in sustainability

DCM provides marketing and business communication solutions to some of North America’s biggest brands. Operating for over 60 years, the company has a comprehensive environmental, social, and governance (ESG) strategy, and reducing climate impact is a large part of it.

The company has been certified by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) since 2007, and in 2021 partnered with PrintReleaf, maker of a ground-breaking platform that reverse-calculates paper consumption, and replants the equivalent number of trees in responsibly managed forests around the world. In 2023, DCM celebrated a major reforestation milestone when it surpassed 1 million trees planted though the PrintReleaf program.

Through the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), the company has implemented a science-based action plan to achieve carbon emission reductions. From 2020 to 2022, DCM reduced its emissions by 20.5%, and plans to reach its 2030 target of a 42% energy reduction through steady migration to renewable energy.

DCM also maintains stringent sustainability management systems for its major manufacturing facilities, certified by The Sustainable Green Printing Partnership (SGP). SGP is a not-for-profit organization that serves as the print industry’s most rigorous sustainability accreditor.

Videri: Simple installation, superior wow factor

The Videri platform removes the complexity and limitations of traditional digital signage. Through system on chip (SOC) technology, the solution eliminates the need for HDMI ports, speakers, and other extraneous equipment. It also uses the thinnest, lightest, and smartest digital screens available—seemingly wafer-thin displays that stop people in their tracks. Their nimble design enables them to go where traditional displays often cannot—in small spaces, for instance, or suspended from ceilings.

Even better, features like the central portal and simple content management software make it easy to upload and refresh messages, while simple, flexible mounting brackets and ADA compliance ensure optimal accessibility and viewing.

“DCM is always on the lookout for new and innovative products that can help clients tell their story with more bang,” says Steve Livingstone. “Our partnership with Videri is doing exactly that: putting high-octane digital messages where they previously couldn’t go—all while reducing clients’ carbon footprints and helping them adopt more future-friendly marketing practices.”

Edge-Lit TVs are on the hot seat. How does Videri keep its cool?

In a recent study by RTING, edge-lit TVs were identified as prone to significant durability issues due to concentrated heat which caused “uniformity problems” such as warped reflector sheets, cracked light guide plates, and burnt-out LEDs. The study concluded that these TVs posed a significant risk to long-term reliability. When it comes to thin digital displays, heat dissipation is paramount to the longevity of the product. No one knows that better than Omar Barake, SVP of Hardware and Engineering at Videri. We asked him how Videri kept its cool.
